Variables can be considered
containers filed with numbers (as in the following picture).

Variable y consists of positive integers less or equal to 6.

Variable x consists of positive integers less or equal to 5.

Note: Variables frequently contain infinite sets of numbers, either countable or uncountable. Such variables would be difficult to represent as the above picture, so in our examples we will use just variables with finite sets of numbers.
