At the age of 14
Smith moved to
Glasgow  and
began to study
moral philosophy
at the university.

He had an excellent professor
Francis Hutcheson, whose
"Theory of Moral Sense" had a great
influence on him. Much later Smith
occupied Hutchenson's Chair  in Glasgow.
Adam Smith was a very serious student,
who spent a lot of time reading various
books in the library. He was also interested
in mathematics, natural sciences
and political economy.
