remained for two years.
Even before that he has
visited London several
times. First time it was
in 1761, then in 1766
after he return from
France and again
several times during
the period 1773 to 1776.

James Boswell

In London he was a
member of the Literary
Club and met frequently
with several famous members of this club, namely with

Dr. Samuel Johnson,
Sir Joshua Reynolds,
Edmund Burke,

Edward Gibbon,
David  Garrick,
James Boswell,

and he met several times also Benjamin Franklin.
